A New Event Approaches

Dear Lords and Ladies

Earlier this year, we announced two new events coming to the game. The first of these, the Grand Tournament, has already launched and has quickly become a part of our regular event rotation. Now the time has finally come to reveal the second event we have been working on behind the scenes. We are excited to introduce the Rift Raid Event.

Introducing the Rift Raid Event

The Rift Raid is a new monthly event that will run for one week and introduce a completely fresh gameplay experience. Strange portals will begin opening throughout the Empire, each one leading to other worlds filled with dangerous hordes and powerful bosses preparing to invade. These bosses are designed to be incredibly strong and persistent, and defeating them will require the combined strength of your entire alliance. Every attack matters, making teamwork and coordination more important than ever.

How the Event Works

Every boss follows a repeating combat cycle. Your alliance starts by breaking through the boss’s fortified walls, which are extremely tough and usually require your stronger players to engage first. Once the walls fall, all members of the alliance can contribute by attacking the courtyard. This is the phase where the boss actually takes damage, and clearing the courtyard repeatedly is the key to pushing the boss through its different health stages.

Bosses regenerate their defenses at certain health thresholds or after a countdown, and their behavior changes as the fight progresses. Walls can instantly regenerate, unit effectiveness can shift, and earlier strategies may no longer work. After each defeat, the boss levels up and returns in a stronger form, offering better rewards to those who push further.

Your First Opponent

A villainous character holding a staff stands triumphantly in front of a dark, enchanted castle, surrounded by zombies and ominous stormy skies.

The first boss you will face is known as the Mistress of Decay. This enemy relies mainly on melee units and starts the fight by weakening your ranged troops. It is protected by extremely strong walls and reinforced gates that must be broken down with new, powerful tools, and the most dangerous mechanic is that every unit you lose may rise again as part of the boss’s zombie army. Melee troops are especially vulnerable to this, and courtyard battles increase the risk even more.

As the fight continues, the balance of power shifts. At certain health stages, ranged units regain full effectiveness while melee units become less effective. This forces players to constantly adjust their attack compositions depending on the current situation. Early attacks may require mixed setups, while later courtyard attacks become more effective with fully ranged armies.

Rewards for Your Effort

The Rift Raid brings several new reward types. Players earn activity rewards simply by defeating enemy units. Once a boss is defeated, every member who has contributed enough activity receives a reward. Mystery boxes containing special raid equipment and raid gems can be earned, along with offerings for the new epic general Ashiral, additional Hall of Legends currency, and a new event currency unique to this feature. The deeper your alliance pushes, the better the rewards become.

Prepare for the Rift

The Rift Raid Event is one of the biggest additions we have introduced in a long time with never seen before persistent battle gameplay mechanics. It brings a new strategic layer, new alliance goals, and a completely different kind of challenge that we hope will become a highlight of every month. Your alliance will need communication, planning, and determination to fight through the rifts and defeat the growing threats that await within.

The first Rift will open soon. Prepare your alliance, gather your forces, and get ready to face the dangers beyond the Empire. The first tech test for the Rift Raid will open tomorrow on the Empire Open Beta Server, followed shortly after by a dedicated balancing test, and once we have ironed out everything that still needs fine-tuning, the full release will be just around the corner.
